How BINGO Digi Turned Minute Maid’s China Product Launch Into a Culture-Led Commerce Experience

Turning a Beverage Launch Into a Connected Brand and Commerce Experience

Minute Maid needed to introduce its new apple-vinegar beverage in China without allowing the product to disappear among a constant stream of new drink launches.

BINGO Digi developed “Vinegar Jianghu, Trendy Canton,” a martial-arts-inspired campaign rooted in Cantonese cultural references. The programme connected a themed physical launch, interactive installations, stage programming, an on-site livestream studio, creator amplification and social content.

The experience gave the product a distinctive launch world while creating routes from event attention to online product discovery and purchase.

According to the supplied project reporting, the programme produced the results below. Final publication should retain the original campaign period, media investment, research methodology and attribution definitions.

3.2× Omnichannel ROAS

Reported across the live-commerce and O2O activity included in the project measurement.

45% Lift in Gen Z Brand Affinity

Reported from the audience research used in the campaign evaluation.

30% Lower Customer Acquisition Cost

Reported against the project’s comparison baseline for audience and conversion activity.

The Challenge

Building Distinctiveness Without Separating Brand Theatre From Sales

China’s beverage category gives consumers a large number of new flavours, formats and promotional messages to process. A conventional product presentation could introduce Minute Maid Apple Vinegar, but it would give younger consumers little reason to remember, photograph or share the launch.

The product also carried a health-oriented brand position that needed to feel current without turning general lifestyle language into an unsupported nutrition or functional claim.

Minute Maid therefore needed one launch platform that could perform several tasks: make the new product recognisable, provide a physical experience worth sharing, translate local culture into contemporary creative and connect audience interest with livestream and e-commerce action.

The challenge was not simply to attract an event crowd. It was to make every part of the launch contribute to one consumer journey.

The Insight

A Product Launch Becomes More Memorable When Consumers Can Enter Its Story

01

Cultural Codes Could Give the Product a Distinctive World

Martial-arts storytelling offered recognisable characters, rituals and visual symbols. Combined with Cantonese food and market references, it gave the launch a local identity beyond a standard branded stage.

02

Everyday Occasions Could Make the Product Easier to Understand

Market, dining, gifting and social scenes showed where the beverage might appear in daily life. This helped the campaign move from an abstract product introduction towards concrete consumption occasions.

03

Commerce Needed to Sit Inside the Experience

If livestream selling appeared only after the event, audience attention could fade between discovery and purchase. Building the studio into the venue allowed the commercial layer to operate as part of the launch narrative.

The Strategy

Connect Cultural Theatre, Participation and Commerce in One Launch System

BINGO Digi organised the programme around three connected layers.

A Cultural Launch World
01

A Cultural Launch World

The first created a coherent cultural world. “Vinegar Jianghu, Trendy Canton” combined martial-arts language with Cantonese visual and food references.

Participation Across the Venue
02

Participation Across the Venue

The second turned that world into participation. Visitors moved through a Dragon Gate entrance, themed market and dining settings, photo opportunities and a large-screen two-player fruit-cutting game.

Commerce and Social Amplification
03

Commerce and Social Amplification

The third connected the venue with digital action. Stage performances, the product reveal, brand presentations and the on-site livestream were programmed as one sequence. Creator and social content then extended selected moments beyond the physical event across Xiaohongshu, Weibo and Douyin.

Each touchpoint had a defined role: attract attention, explain the product, encourage participation or support conversion.

Campaign Execution

Building a Launch Environment Designed for Content and Action

Dragon Gate Arrival
01

Dragon Gate Arrival

A custom Dragon Gate framed the entrance and established the campaign language before visitors reached the main activity areas. It also created a clear first photo and video moment for event content.

Market, Dining and Retail Scenes
02

Market, Dining and Retail Scenes

The venue included themed market and dining zones that placed the beverage alongside meals, gifting and retail occasions. These settings supported product display while giving guests more natural backgrounds for creator and social content.

Martial-Arts Arena and Interactive Game
03

Martial-Arts Arena and Interactive Game

A martial-arts-inspired activity zone included a two-player fruit-cutting game on a large screen, period-costume elements and photo spots. The design gave guests something to do rather than limiting the experience to passive product viewing.

Stage and Livestream Programming
04

Stage and Livestream Programming

Performances, the new-product reveal and brand presentations were sequenced to maintain attention. The livestream studio was integrated into the event design, allowing product explanation and selling to follow the wider experience without becoming a disconnected broadcast.

Keeping the Physical Journey, Content Capture and Sales Route Aligned

The venue needed to work simultaneously as an event space, a content set and a commerce environment. Visitor movement, stage timing, creator access, product visibility and livestream production therefore had to be coordinated rather than managed as separate workstreams.

Each zone produced a different type of material: the Dragon Gate established the campaign identity; market and dining scenes showed usage occasions; the game generated participation; and the stage and livestream carried the product and commercial message.

Creator distribution extended selected event moments through social channels after the launch. Final reporting should distinguish event attendance, livestream viewers, social reach, engagement, product-page visits, orders and repeat customers rather than treating all activity as one conversion result.

According to the supplied project reporting, the programme achieved 3.2 times omnichannel ROAS, a 45% lift in brand affinity among Gen Z consumers and a 30% reduction in customer acquisition cost. These are project-reported results rather than independently audited figures. Any attribution to proprietary audience technology or private-domain routing should remain tied to the original media and measurement documentation.

Why It Worked

One Creative System Connected Culture, Experience and Commercial Action

BINGO Digi gave Minute Maid Apple Vinegar more than a launch-stage theme. “Vinegar Jianghu, Trendy Canton” shaped the arrival, venue scenes, interaction design, performance schedule, livestream environment and social content.

The martial-arts and Cantonese references made the product easier to recognise, while everyday consumption scenes kept the idea connected to the beverage rather than allowing the event design to become decoration.

Participation created material people could photograph and share. The on-site livestream then gave interested audiences a more direct route towards product information and purchase.

The case reflects BINGO Digi’s contribution to China launch strategy, cultural localisation, event concept development, spatial experience planning, interactive design, stage programming, creator amplification, livestream-commerce integration and O2O measurement.

Reported results should remain accompanied by their original period, sample, baseline, media scope and attribution methodology.
